Full-body workouts for fat loss beats cardio training hands down. If your looking to shed those unwanted pounds then do so with an intense fat burning full-body workout.
Although cardio may still have benefits for fat loss it has been shown by research that resistance training beats it any day of the week. Resistance training not only burns more fat but it also improves your overall health, increases your quality of living, and reduces your risk of injuries.
The best thing is resistance training isn’t limit to fancy complicated machines and heavy barbell exercises. When combined for a full-body workout dumbbell and bodyweight exercises (like lunges, push-ups, and pull-ups) can be as effective if not more for your fat loss.
The other benefits of full-body dumbbell or bodyweight exercises are that they can easily be performed at home and give you a complete fat burning workout in less time. By doing a bodyweight or dumbbell squat, you get a full lower body workout with out the need to do things such as leg extension or leg curl machines at the gym. Push-ups or dumbbell chest presses replace the pec deck machine and triceps press downs. And chin-ups replace the need for pulldown and biceps curl machines.
Another great benefit is that you only need to do three or four bodyweight or dumbbell exercises to get a complete full-body workout. Perform each exercise two to three times for 8 to 12 reps per set. Then rest one minute between sets. If you want to up the intensity and cut down even more on the time or the workout you can do the exercises in a circuit (all exercises performed back to back without rest) or in supersets (two exercises paired back to back without rest) to. Try to get in three full-body resistance training workouts per week.
Full-body workouts are what you need to be doing.
Body Weight Example:
Squat
Pullup
Push-up
Lunge
That's going to be a tough workout, which will have your heart racing and your body sweating. But the real benefits come once the workout is over. The full-body workout increases your metabolism, which causes fat loss long after you are done.
